Genio becomes a proud Exporter!

by | Apr 26, 2013 | Roaster News

Genio Roasters has officially become an exporter of coffee roasters.  Yes, it’s true, we are sending our first 4 machines to Europe.

A few months ago, I received an excited phone call from a German man saying that they were interested in a roaster.  A week later, they committed to a machine and became Genio’s first export customer.  Shortly thereafter, we received two more emails requesting machines to Austria.  This week, we pulled through the final sale to a new roaster in Denmark!  How incredible is that?

With all cylinders firing , Genio Roasters has been working around the clock to prepare the machine for their long journey to Europe.  With CE certification, variable speed drum and and fan controls and Cropster systems in each machine, these roasters are the most hard-core, zooped-up versions that we have done to date.  Of coarse, as with all Genio’s, George and myself will be accompanying the machines to personally commission them at every one of the sites.

We start our journey in a small town at the base of the Alps called Garmisch-Partenkirchen.  There, we’ll meet up with Leonhard Wild from Wild Kaffee to install his brand new 6kg machine alongside a 24kg Probat and their new 45kg Giesen.  Wild Kaffee has an amazing website, so be sure to check it out!

After Germany, we hop over the Alps with Wild Kaffee’s truck to deliver Herr Goran Huber’s new machine.  Goran is an SCAE certified trainer and will run his roastery from his shop called Kaffee-Institut in Innsbruck.  It just so happens that Andreas from Cropster is also based in Innsbruck, so we’ll definitely meet up with the team.  We’ll be installing their logging systems in every roaster, so it should be a great few days!

From Innsbruck, we drive over to Dornbirn on the border just before Switzerland.  There, we will install the final of the German machines (yes, all of the control panels are laser engraved in German!) for Johannes Handle  from Cafehaus Indigo.

Lastly, we hop the plane up to Denmark and head over to a little town called Flemming where we will install the last machine at Aekvatorkaffe.  Jacob Verkade, better known as Coco, is eagerly awaiting his Misty Blue machine and will also get our signature floral designs on the back and front of his new machine.

I can’t wait for this trip.  If only my darling wife could join me.  But first, we have a mountain of work to do before the machines are ready for their trip.
